I noticed today that the components panel, (the one that pops up on the left and has the trend lines and fibs and all other drawings tools) is no longer available. I checked the manual and it says:
A toggle button is available on the right hand side of the tool bar to show/hide this panel as well. Alternatively, choose View -> Display -> Components from the top menu bar.

Both the toggle button and drop down menu are missing.

The toggle button is missing:

And the pull down menu is also missing:

I haven't fully moved over to MW7 yet, but I have messed around with several releases starting with the Alpha versions. I might be wrong on this, but I think the components panel has been "retired" or discontinued. I never saw it in any version of MW7 that I used.

I hope I am wrong, because I have created a bunch of custom components on MW6 which I use every day. The components panel is something I use all of the time on MW & I was looking for it on v7 - Never found it anywhere. 🤷‍♂️

That's insane, what is the alternative? How do I draw a simple trend line now?

Tools . Then you can add most used tools to your favorites and even assign a shortcut for a quick access.

I personally work in "Compact" to maximize the screen real-estate. I don't have toolbars so I use keyboard shortcuts to fetch a tool I need.

cheers

I could also assign a keyboard shortcut to specific tools. But this has got to be the dumbest possible way of doing this. I cannot believe they removed the components panel. How do Elliot people even use this anymore? It makes no sense that they actively chose to do this!

During the last webinar Jason mentioned that decision. Also, the user has an option to create a custom toolbar from most used tools. There is a consideration to add what the user wants to the chart right click popup menu for fast access in the upcoming releases.

cheers.

I was really hoping that they somehow forgot to add it. I can't believe this was a conscious decision. Really sucks!

Also they never bothered to update their user guide, as you would expect from a professional trading software.

Turns out the solution is simple. The little hand (fist) icon at top has everything.
yeah it took me ages to find this... it was only once i watched the release webinar that i could work out where it was! So im guessing new users would not find it. Personally I would like it the components menu to come back and we can choose what we add to it.
