Issues with sound?

Hello there! I've been using Motivewave in Linux and everything is working except for reliable sound. I checked on settings and when I preview a sound sometime it makes a sound and others it doesn't ?

Same thing happens with notifications and the sounds for order filled/modified, etc... sometimes it makes a sound and sometime it doesn't. I initially suspected that it was my exotic distro (void) but I tested this in Debian 12 and have the same issues.

Have you guys come across this issue? I'll keep testing to see if I find something else.

I am running the Windows version and I have encountered this, but it is very rare. Maybe 1 out of 100 times I load the software it happens. If I shut down MW and restart everything will work as it should. It is such a rare occurrence that I have not been able to pinpoint why / how though.

Are you using custom sound files or the standard sounds that come with MW?

hmmm... interesting that it happens on windows too. I've never had this issue on MacOS.

Another interesting thing about this issue is that it only happens with, like, the first sound, if that makes sense? I'd create and cancel an order, which makes a sound and the first time I do it there will be no sound, but the second it would sound alright... let a few seconds pass, try again and no sound again.

Alright, I figured it out!

Turns out that the issue wasn't actually related to Motivewave but to my sound (I'm using a monitor connected via DisplayPort). When I tested other appss that make sound, it takes about 2 seconds or so for the sound to start. With that I found a solution here:
