Good evening everyone,

I am a new MotiveWave user recently transitioning over from TradingView. I am used to using the continuous contract on the front month in TradingView ex: NQ1!, ES1! and having it update seemlessly with their little B-ADJ button.

I am not having a smooth time updating my continuous charts in MotiveWave and am noticing some discrepancies (price gaps in MotiveWave when my continuous in TradingView does not have them) and am just wondering if anyone else out there went through this and what they did to work through it.

I looked around a bit and it might be my datafeed and specific settings I need to play with under Edit Instrument -> Data? My mainfeed is TopStep's Rithmic connection.

I really appreciate yalls patience and help of a newbie here. Thank you for your time.

Hi Grubz! Hope all is well on your side!
Not sure if you already got everything all worked out with the challenges you’re experiencing updating continuous contract rollover.

Here are Two main options to focus on under Adjuted method:
1. Unadjusted - Offer TRUE Pricing structure (But it does shows the Gaps on contract rollovers)
2. Culminative Diff/Differences Adjusted ( Removes Gaps and offers smooth support and resistance levels on the Chart but just be advised that there might be some discrepancies with something like the previous ATH price that shows on the Chart might be different (Higher) than the actual ATH that shows on unadjusted contract chart (but just know that the Current NQ/ES Contract is always going to be traded at the EXACT current MARKET price LEVELS so no need to worry about that) and also you might have to shift your chart drawings a bit since the price levels do move up or down on each Contract rollover time due to price difference adjustments between contracts.

I originally had my Continues Contract Rollover back-adjusted set to cumulative Diff/difference Adjusted I changed that to have it set to “Unadjusted” under Adjust method as this do provides the TRUE pricing (but of course I have come to be content with the gaps showing on the Chart and not have to always having shifting my drawings on every rollover time. And it’s been working for me nicely.

I’m also attaching a link below to a Discussion thread I found here about year and half ago when I was researching for similar situation.

I hope this helps!

Best regards

Thank you for your help. I am going to tinker a bit with what you shared here and see if I can get to a good place!
