Hello all,

I currently use MW on my new M1 Mac Mini 16 RAM. (Max Heap setting 10 GB)
Usually after 2 hours into usage I will start to experiencing “lagging” in all general functions.
Dragging the chart becomes slower and my crosshair will actually lag behind my mouse arrow quite substantially.

I left it on whole day last session when the computer goes to sleep mode, when I turn it on, it was running like a 1 Htz monitor and almost froze.

The platform is only using peak 3% of my CPU and memory will typically get 20% to 30% usage. I know it is not my computer, my thinkorswim (typically heavier than MW) runs very smooth and I never have to turn it off. They both use Rosetta 2.

And this issue is something I already have sometimes on my previous mac but I always think it was my old laptop’s problem. Now I can see it is not.

So I already sent in an email to the support, but want to see if anyone has any recommendations solutions to this in regards of settings?

Thank you

Don't know much about Macs, but do you do click on the garbage collection trash can icon ever? I do it every so often if I see my memory usage get over a couple hundred MB....I don't know if that would help with the slowing down, but it's worth a shot.

Yes, thank you. It will only help temporarily, just as “clear local data”. I think just based on what I observe it can be cache data issue or Rithmic simply throttles my speed to prevent bad fills after the application fails to keep up with the data. And it might be that I need to connect to my local server (Singapore) instead of Chicago, but I can’t for some reasons and am trying to solve that too.

I don't know what it will do if you change it (There is a warning label about doing so)

But I do know where to find it - Hope it helps. ?

Hi all, thanks for the replies.

I do believe I am experiencing some kind of “memory leak” as MW is java based? Not sure what I can do as an end user.

Quite surprising that it seems like I’m the only person having this issue. Maybe a Big Sur issue?
