Rithmic live data issue

Hi there!

I have an issue under linux to receive live data through a standard rithmic connection (Rithmic WS is working). Historical data will load, but after that the DOM is blank and the chart is frozen. The only exception are YM and MYM.

Tried Apex and TakeProfitTrader connections and various linux distros on 2 different machines, as well as different MW7 versions. No luck.

Windows version of MW is working with the same setup/workspace.

Is anyone here using MW7 with a standard rithmic connection under linux?

I have had the DOM panel work well on a Windows OS with a Version 6 Motivewave with no issues. I have not upgraded to Version 7 yet, because you are always taking a bit of a chance when upgrading and if a few software bugs are present and various things are not working, you will be disappointed and possibly cursing.

A possible solution might be to email support@motivewave.com and ask them for a Version 6 community edition to download and applicable license. You will have to do some work installing it on your Linux machines but it could be a way of testing the DOM panel in your scenario and observing if the freezing is also present in Version 6.

Don't install the Version 6 MW unless you backup your MW7 work otherwise the workspace will be overwritten and your Version 7 will be lost permanently. So be careful but with multiple Linux laptops, I suspect you already know what you are doing.

Thank you for your message. I have already tried the last stable Version 6 before 7.0.0. Behaviour was the same. Pretty puzzling. I can work for now with the Rithmic WS connection though, that's ok apart from some minor quirks.

It can't be emphasized enough. If you have a working MW system or anything close to it, do everything you can to safeguard it and prepare for emergency disaster.

Preferably, you should have an identical laptop setup and ready to go with the identical configuration of the working system. The hardware should be the same as driver differences could cause consistency issues. If you have a motherboard or ram failure, you can switch to that system on a dime and not be burned by the markets.

Also consider an emergency Internet connection that does not rely on conventional routers in the case of a hydro blackout.

For a very small investment you can have piece of mind and the extra work involved will pay off big time.
