Auto Scale Functions Differently in V7?

Hey, I used the Auto-Scale button very frequently when I wanted the chart to be formatted to a nice size, and then turn it off when I needed to manually move things around.

However in V7 it appears that when you turn it off it snaps back to the view you had at the last time of activating it. This is super annoying as the previous version just simply allowed you to turn 'auto-scale' on or off to easily scale the chart.

Is there a way to have this previous functionality back?
