Hello MotiveWave Community,

I'm reaching out for help with an issue I've been experiencing while attempting to connect MotiveWave to Coinbase Advanced Trade. Despite several attempts and double-checking the API key, I consistently receive a "Connection Failed: Invalid Credentials" error.

I've tried entering the API and Key into both the Coinbase and Coinbase Pro options on Motivewave to try and connect with no luck. The Coinbase pro connection prompt is asking for a pass phrase but the newer version of Coinbase Advanced API doesn't offer a pass_phrase or at least I couldn't find one anywhere, so I was just leaving it blank.

The log files from MotiveWave indicate repeated "not connected! Invalid Credentials" errors, but don't provide more detail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi buddy, The issue you are experiencing comes from CoinBase as you need an Api key and this info is provided by Coinbase. Also, I believe Coinbase pro is not longer supported so you Api information would have to come from Coinbase. You can find the related information here: https://help.coinbase.com/en/cloud/api/coinbase. Hope it helps. I used to be a Pro user and had to made some changes in order to reconnect my account using motivewave.

Still the account balance is not showing up in motivewave. I am connected through api key and personal key but the account does not show any money while the money is available in Coinbase account. It maybe because the transfer was made today. Motivewave will only get the money in tommorow or after midnight. Nevertheless, It would be nice to have some true feedback from someone who use Motivewave and Coinbase in 2024.

I paid for the upgrade in hopes that the Coinbase API would finally work but still can't figure it out.

what did you try yet. explain what you did yet
I've tried the keys in multiple formats as i had ChatGPT helping me out. CoinbasePro actually said the keys connected during the test but they did not work as when logging in it gave a Error loading orders code. Once inside motivewave, there was no live data and a BTC chart ended in 2023.

I tried the same keys multiple ways in the selected Coinbase as well which I believe is the one that shoud work but no matter what I do it says ivalid credentials. The keys are read only. I appreciate the reply.1732440672453.png1732440697643.png

First, you need to use coinbase not coinbase pro.
Second, The api key name you pasted is not complete. Make sure your paste it all. The space should be full of character. Invalid credentials. See the coinbase pro is full the coinbase is not.
Never trust any copy past. Check
Are you a us or canadian trader?

First, don't ever show your private key again online. Get into your Coinbase account, delete it now and create a new one.
Second, the problem comes from your credentials. The way you paste them or they key is deactivated. Reach Coinbase.

It was a read only API, have no money in that account, and was planning on changing it once I figured things out. I went through about 10 API's, pasting them into different things like Microsoft word but couldnt figure it out. I pasted them into ChatGPT and if found the issues and rewrote it for me which worked like a charm. Thank you so much for the help.

Hi,

I'm running into similar issues. I am based in Canada. I was able to generate a Coinbase API key with trading and view permissions and successfully connect. Now I have the following issues:

1. My account balances aren't displayed
2. Attempting to place exit strategy bracket orders in the DOM window behaves bizarrely showing multiple orders
3. DOM does not display volume
4. DOM does not appear to update regularly

Version: 6.9.11
Edition: Standard Edition

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
