Data gap on opening Motive Wave v6 and v7

Hi traders,
We own two lifetime licences for Motive Wave. The past few days I've been getting strange gaps on startup of Motive Wave (see image below). Not the nice gaps you can trade, but ones that don't exist. My son has AMP data on Motive Wave so I can compare as he sits behind me. He has no problems. I have Edge Clear data feed. I've been using Motive Wave for over a year now, mostly version 6. I upgraded to v7 a month and all went well. But this week every time on opening Motive Wave .. There is a gap .. From about 5 or 6am and then to current time, which now is about 14.30.
I can replicate this in v7 and v6, apparently. Same on all 5 instruments I'm currently watching on CME and Eurex.
I've reinstalled 7 and 6 and restarted Windows a couple of times etc .. The gaps remain.

For users who have recently upgraded to Version 7 and are currently experiencing connectivity issues with Rithmic, please follow the steps below to revert your connection to the C++ API. This process applies to any Rithmic based broker connection that you were previously using in Version 6.
  • Step 1. Download and install our latest version from our website.
  • Step 2. Backup your current version 7 workspace via the File > Backup menu
  • Step 3. Click on the Configure > Workspaces menu and click on the New Workspace button
  • Step 4. Select Rithmic NOT Rithmic (WS Beta). If you were connecting to Rithmic via a broker then select that broker's Rithmic based connection.
  • Step 5. Restore the backup created in step 1 to your newly created workspace via the File > Restore menu and use this new workspace moving forward.

I've tried this solution, and it doesn't help. The gaps remain after reinstalation, windows restart in v6 and v7 of Motive Wave.
My son with AMP data had no problem so it may not be Motive Wave. Not sure what to do.
I've contacted my broker Edge Clear, they say it's a Motive Wave issue with updates.
Seriously considering Trading View for charting and Jigsaw for ladder.
Or even diving into Sierra charting and use Jigsaw for ladder.

Have you tried Right click -> Clear Local Data? I've had the occasional issue with missing candles and sometimes it can help.

Yes ive tried that one. It helped with other issues but not this. Thanks for the idea.
 
It seems you are on a continuous contract, have you tried the actual contract?

I'll try next week when. Ive been fine as it is for months its only last week when I added Eurex data. Eurex didnt work properly .. then CME started gapping. Wierdly .. my son who trades next to me .. tried his AMP login on my MotiveWave .. no gaps at all. I tried my EdgeClear login on his MotiveWave PC .. and the gaps were there again. Looks very much like the data source to me. My broker says it is a MW problem with updates. Now they ask for log files as Ive said I will transfer to another broker if we cant fix this. But I've reinstalled so there isnt much in the log. Thought about using the Jigsaw I bought last year for ladder and getting TradingView up for charts. I prefer to to MW as its all in one and works .. most of the time. I love these lil dramas now and again. Hehe. Thanks

Just trying to rule out the obvious - Is there any chance you have "Show Extended Data" switched off? (I think that is what is says, it is the weekend and I don't have MW open). I am referring to the option to show / hide overnight trading.


When that is switched on, you will certainly have a gap.

I am guessing you already double checked, just trying to rule out the obvious just in case you didn't think of it :)

Also it sounds like the gap is consistent - You might want to go into "Edit Instrument" and double check your session times. I suppose it is possible it got switched to a funky time?
 
Good one Donovan I'll try Monday. I'm hoping its me done something silly. But Friday we logged in to a new workspace .. no settings I have chosen to use or mess up were loaded. If I use my broker login I get gaps .. if my son uses his broker login data is correct no gaps. The new workspace thing means none of my settings are yet loaded but the default chart just loads the candles.
