MW 7 was largely or partly vibe coded using AI (there is proof for this in the startup script). That's not necessarily a problem if the devs understand the code that's written, but it can also cause a mess of bugs that's hard to fix.
After migrating to MW 7, half of the battle is finding workarounds for random issues, placing and cancelling orders barely works while testing on a prop account, orders get stuck until I do a manual refresh, still have to figure that out before I start trading live. I will still stick to version 7 in the hope that things improve over time.
However, I do think MW needs to hire more full-time devs that actually care about the software. For a software like this, at least 1-2 new features per week should be possible + general bug fixes on top of that, but the last few releases have all been minor bug fixes only. Meanwhile, there are feature requests that have been requested by many users for years, like a simple setting for displaying the P&L in ticks instead of dollar amount. I would be surprised if it takes more than a couple of hours to implement, especially with today's AI tools.
All of us are paying customers for the actual software, not a data feed or anything external, so I do think we have a right to expect more from the developers.
You could probably hire right here on the forum and find somebody who's passionate about improving the software.
