I’m using the latest version of MotiveWave 7 on M3 Pro MacOS 26 with Rithmic, but it suddenly freezes completely (specifically on a price spike) it goes completely unresponsive nothing is clickable or updating for a few seconds. Anything I’m missing? (Btw max memory set to 8gb)

It happens to me from time to time with CQG feed. I'm not sure the cause of it. I have the ToS platform running at the same time and there is no notable freeze there. Could be MW problem. I assume it is not easy to reproduce for dev team to figure it out.

cheers.

Are you on WiFi or using an ethernet cable? It makes a huge difference for realtime streaming data. Since the platform has no chance of buffering as is the case with other streaming data like for example videos, any dropouts in the connection can lead to the platform needing to catch up to get things in order when new data packages arrive before the missing packages are requested again and processed.

I'm using WiFi but I was using NinjaTrader with dxFeed before and things was fine, I don't think it's an internet issue yet I will try a cable doesn't hurt

The rithmic data feed is a MBO data feed, when you get big volatility spikes it will push your bandwidth as well as your PC resources to the limit.

What type of internet speeds are really needed?

I get around 200 up and down with a ping of 1ms

Is that enough? Ai seems to think I should be using the New York connection?
Because I am right on the fiber backbone that runs from NYC to Montreal.

I cant tell. Myself I have a 1GB up/down fiber connection, always run off a Ethernet cable. On big news events, when the volatility spikes extremely even I can see som delays in processing. But for 99% of the time I have no issues.

I too use a wired connection. My system will stutter a lil bit on big data but thats about it.. I can say i usually don't have a issue.
My TV feed lags more on big news than the Rithmic data.. I do think I can say that.
