Hello everyone,

I've developed a bunch of studies for MW7 and decided to release some of them for free. These are either studies that are considered pretty standard in other charting packages or studies where the calculation is not my proprietary work and based on other peoples finding and open source code.

These studies currently consist of:
  1. Stacked Imbalances study
  2. Trading Range Detector
  3. Interactive Risk Calculator
  4. Candle Statistics
  5. Repulse Oscillator
You can find these studies on my Website: AlphaVector
I will occasionally update the studies with bugfixes and features and may add other studies in the future, so do check the site from time to time.

For those interested, you can download the source code alongside the jar files, modify the code to your liking and compile them for yourself.

Note: I share each study "as is". That means: no backports to MW6 and no change requests that I don't see fit for myself. I've developed these studies for my own trading and will continue to do so. Other than that, enjoy!

thank you for sharing. regarding Stacked Imbalances - the "end on touch" value is confusing; immediate bar having retraced the 3 stacked imbalance yet continues to plot, will this plot despite a complete retrace for next defined bar history?

Mystery Solved: forgot to tick on "use real values" given the Renko chart

Has the "use real values" setting solved the problem? Will add it to the README in any case.

I hope this isn't too much of a silly question, but what is the main difference between your Stacked Imbalance and MW Volume Imprint Imbalance study?

Stacked imbalances are clusters of adjacent imbalances that signal amplified buying or selling pressure. These levels can act as support or resistance, as it can be a sign of a big market order cluster hitting the market. The price level of entry is likely to be defended. This indicator draws these levels. It's all on the website incl. description and screenshots. And search for it online, there's plenty of information about it out there.

Here is a screenhot of today from ES:

Got you, and I did read that. I thought Motivewave Imprint Imbalance study did the same thing, but I guess their settings are different, trying to understand the difference a lil more. I guess your shows the imbalances based on stacking and Motivewave version does not...? Thank you for getting back to me appreciate it. :)

Yes that's pretty much correct. MW's volume imprint does detect imbalances inside the footprint but that's about it. This study detects imbalance clusters and draws lines from these stacks to mark potential S&R levels until they get touched (or reach a configured max length).

It's a pretty common indicator in most orderflow charting packages, and because MW does not have it yet, I decided to code it myself when I switched from ATAS to MW.

Another MW-coder on the block: yay !!

Look neat: well done !
:)
Thanks! I’ve found MotiveWave to have a rather sparse ecosystem - probably because there isn’t much infrastructure beyond this forum. The SDK is quite capable, though. I wonder why they don’t promote it more; customization and a vibrant ecosystem are major marketing tools and key selling points.

Also, from what I understand, they don’t provide any support for coding- and SDK-related questions. So we’re basically on our own. 🙃

you want a TTM inspired script?

I don't have any personal use for it unfortunately, because it does not fit my into my trading. But if you have something to share where others can profit from, that's always a good idea! Why not offer it here in this forum? 🙂
