Issue with Historical Data Not Loading from Interactive Brokers (Windows 11, MotiveWave 6.0.6, Java 13.0.1)

Hi MotiveWave Community,
I’m reaching out to see if anyone has experienced a similar issue or can offer insight. I’m running MotiveWave version 6.0.6 on Windows 11 with Java version 13.0.1, and I’m trying to connect the platform to Interactive Brokers for market data.
However, the platform isn’t loading historical data. Instead, it only shows a single daily candle that starts forming from the moment I open the chart, capturing all price points from that point forward.
This issue persists across all timeframes (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.).I don’t currently have an active support or update subscription, but I’m wondering if upgrading to the latest version or subscribing to support might resolve this. Has anyone encountered this problem, and if so, did updating the software or contacting support fix it? I’d like to avoid paying for a subscription only to find the issue persists.
Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Best,
Manuel Fantoni

Hi,

I have seen this before with Interactive Brokers but more restricted to the daily time interval only. Other time frames were just fine but on the one day chart, only 1 candle showing.

I initially suggest you click on the extended data tab under the View menu to see if that has any effect.

Hi, thank you for suggestion. Unfortunately it didn't work. I noticed that if I try to open $MSFT when the market is closed it completely fails to load any price data from IBKR.

I did have this issue with Java 17.0.1 on one particular stock. When I upgraded the Java, this problem disappeared. It only seemed to happen on the non-Smart instruments in the watch list. The Smart instruments showed normal charts and had no issues as you described above. I suggest you email support@motivewave and inquire how to upgrade the Java 13 without having to change your version number 6.0.6 and license.
