Tick charts

I am currently trying out a demo and I have my tradestation account linked to the motive platform. I currently use tick charts on tradestation but I can't find tick bars listed as an option on my motivewave platform. Please advise.

You cannot get tick data using Tradestation as a data feed. I know you can load tick charts on the Tradestation platform so it seems strange.

Here is the answer I received from support when I asked this same question: Not the best news, but at least it is an answer


"The Tradestation API does not support historical ticks in the feed therefore tick charts are not available via MotiveWave.

The lowest time interval supported historically would be based on seconds."

Thanks for the reply! Wow that's pretty crazy. So in addition to not being able to use my tradestation data, I also can't connect my gain account. So it looks like I'll have to move money into one of their listed brokers. Currently I use Tradestation for their charts and I put my trades through Gain. I'm testing Motivewave out because Tradestation doesn't offer a order flow indicator, so unless I find another broker, I'd have to have 3 platforms running. Anyway, thanks again for your help.

FYI - I was a Tradestation user for 10+ years. Once I got into market profile, order flow, etc. I saw how much Tradestation was lacking in that department.

I opened an account with EdgeClear and it has worked out fantastic. They will supply you with MotiveWave login information and it is seamless.
