I love MW but please consider hiring more devs

Any specific reason for that?

yeah, I've seen many serious traders who recommend it. I don't mind the steep learning curve if it's a great software. I just wish it would look a little more modern.
It had pretty decent layout and interface, seems to do everything but nothing well - very little support especially aftermarket etc
There was a lag here and there - more of a front end software -

Sierra is a different animal- the devs believe in efficient and lightweight code and don’t give 2 shits about he UI/UX - it is based on C++ their custom study language is ACSIL
(Advanced Custom Study Interface and Language) is also C++-based — you write .cpp files that #include "sierrachart.h", and Sierra compiles them into DLLs.

There is extreme customization available, with service package 12 (mbo data) it includes realtime and historical TICK data using their Denali datafeed going back to 2011 - horrible interface but with chartbooks etc it can be made to look like any software out there really.
Also even on the 64x version their recommendation is to run multiple lean instances of the software to not let memory utilization exceed around 3-4GB each, to help keep the allocator churn down when you hammer it with massive tick data /mbo data and things keep humming along smoothly-
They own the Denali exchange datafeed colocated in aurora datacenter with direct cme access and also have their own Teton order routing directly to exchange -
You can also use thirdparty datafeed and order/execution feeds.

Another one I tried for a while was ATAS I liked the design and layout but was invested too deep in motivewave to really try it out thoroughly- and besides I knew if I ever moved from motivewave it would be to a more robust software not for aesthetics -

Hopefully MW7 improves in the coming months, another thirdparty long time developer for MW mentioned that the “drawing engine” on MW7 is a lot slower for indicators that have fills built into them, where as MW6 was a extremely suited for such purposes - now this is troublesome on it own!

I doubt they will reverse course in this -

Yup, I've also got those responses, or worse, my last email explaining 7 different issues in MW 7 got ignored completely. Guess it was too overwhelming for them.

It's not all bad though. Some of the support team have been helpful.
it took them 6 months to get back to mine...

i heard they are in a paid discord updating them.

They send a reply about the slow global crosshairs and the drawing engine. Over my head to be honest, I trade not program. I also got a reply on why I cant zoom in to volume profiles like in 6. Now it's by design, rendering them useless since you can't see the profile. At this point, with the holidays coming up, I may invest 2 months in learning jigsaw and some charting software. The direction MW is heading is not looking so promising.

I understand. It would be nice if they would allow people to download 6.9.12 still - that this is pretty stable

Good thread--someone said MW7 is vibe coded. Thats a good way to put it.

I still can't load SPX or VIX on my charts, but that Black Friday sale email is never late! 🤣

I have multiple tickets in and even the tech guys see the issue but the dev's claim they dont. Does the CEO of this company pay any attention to these forums? If I was running the company I'd be on here giving assurances and working with traders to resolve the issues, not having my staff making excuses and ducking the problem.

I have not seen a official response on this forum for years, so I honestly don't think there is much of monitoring going on here. I'm always surprised when people still make posts here that are addressed to MW staff. They would probably have to have one person to just handle the forum if they started to respond in here. Can you imagine the amount of chatter a official response would generate. Much easier to handle on a one to one basis with 24 hour respond time. ;)
